Veronica Fellman, DO, is a board-certified child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist. She is a clinical assistant professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine. She practices with the Bellevue Hospital–ACS Mental Health Team (MHT) at the Administration for Children Services’ Children’s Center and at The League School, a day-treatment program for individuals ages 5 to 21. She completed her general psychiatry residency and child and adolescent fellowship at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine. She received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Patrick Heppell, PsyD, is a clinical assistant professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine. He currently serves as the Clinical Director for the Bellevue Hospital–ACS Mental Health Team (MHT) at the Administration for Children Services’ Children’s Center. Dr. Heppell and MHT have trained over 200 child welfare staff in understanding and working with traumatized youth, specifically through the Think Trauma model. Dr. Heppell has advanced level training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT) for child and adolescent maltreatment issues, grief and bereavement. He is also a co-editor of an American Psychiatric Association Publishing book: Beyond PTSD: Helping and Healing Teens Exposed to Trauma. Previously, he was a child psychologist at Bellevue Hospital’s Children’s Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program, and he has also worked at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, in the University of Southern California Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities, and in family therapy and day-treatment programs.
Suchet Rao, MD, is the medical director of psychiatry and behavioral health at the New York City Administration for Children’s Services (ACS), and a clinical assistant professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine. He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, and forensic psychiatry. Dr. Rao is the former secretary of the Tri-State Chapter of the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law and is involved in various New York City workgroups and committees focused on improving access to mental health care for minors and underserved  populations. He has lectured and published articles on legal, ethical and clinical issues relating to the psychiatric care of children in the welfare system. Since joining ACS in 2016, Dr. Rao has developed guidelines for the monitoring of prescribed psychiatric medication, and policies for improving the process for obtaining informed consent for psychiatric medication prescribed to children in ACS custody. He also serves as an attending psychiatrist at Bellevue Hospital Center, and as the psychiatric consultant for an alternative-to-incarceration program for teens in New York City.
